Hulkster Endorses Obama

Just read this little tidbit about Hulk Hogan endorsing Barack Obama for president. Hulkster was asked by Jimmy Kimmel on his show who he would like to see in the White House.

If I had to step out, and say who I really believe in — that catches my ear, that makes sense, that really can make a change — I would say Obama,” he said.

Everybody plays this card — the bad guy card, you know the dirty politics thing, talk about the way people dress, act and look — and, he’s the choice. He seems like the real deal, you know.”

WHATCHA GONNA DO WHEN OBAMA RUNS WILD ON YOU! BROTHER!

Kwame Kilpatrick: Our Teflon Don Mayor

I have refrained from commenting on this Kwame situation for some time now.

I wanted to see and hear what this man was planning on saying to defend himself. And after hearing it last night, I am not in the least bit impressed.

The mayor got up last night and gave his boo-hoo speech, showed a little bit of emotion and said he was sorry to the citizens of Detroit and his family.

News flash people: saying you’re “sorry” is not the same as saying you’re “wrong,” which he did not do.

I, for one, do not buy the story that Kwame is the victim in this situation. That fake emotion and crocodile tears do not fool me and they shouldn’t fool you either.

I think people are really losing sight of the issue at hand. There is so much focus on sex, scandal and texting, that people have forgotten what this is really all about: LIES.

Who cares if this man had an affair with another woman? I don’t and neither should you. That stuff is his personal business.

But personal becomes public when the media gets a hold of it. Still, besides the point. The point is that (more…)

Audio: Avenged Sevenfold - Crossroads

I recently came across this video (really just audio) for a song called “Crossroads,” a B-Side track off of Avenged Sevenfold’s latest self-titled album. The band released it on January 17.

The song is pretty good but sounds quite a bit different than the rest on the album.

Give it a listen and see what you think…

Stay tuned for their video and single “Afterlife.” The video is set to debut sometime in late January/early February.

Gnarls Barkley - The Odd Couple

Ok, I know this is the third Gnarls post within the past week (and second for the day), but just have a looky here…

gb_splash_012808_v3.jpg

^^^The official title of their new album AND a release date (kinda)!

^^^Blender’s little blurb about Gnarls, including a few really good quotes from Mr. Cee-Lo Green himself.

Needless to say, I’m excited about this album…

Audio: Gnarls Barkley - Run

As reported a few days earlier, Gnarls Barkley has a much anticipated album coming out in 2008 that everyone will be waiting for.

Well, wait no further! Here’s a sneak peak at one of the songs off of the album entitled “Run”

Personally, I love the song. Gnarls can do no wrong by me. But, let me know what you think.

Note: It’s not a music video, just a song in video form. Also, not sure how long the link to the vid will last because of copyright issues and YouTube.

N.E.R.D. and Lupe to join Kanye on tour

It looks like N.E.R.D. will be accompanying Kanye West on his Glow In The Dark Tour this summer, according to Kanye’s blog.

The tour is in support of West’s third album, Graduation. N.E.R.D. is finishing up their third album, N.3.R.D. after a four-year hiatus.

What this means to me:

Lupe Fiasco has also been added to the Glow In The Dark line-up.

Eminem Not 200 Pounds

He ain’t walkin’ around obese,” said fellow Detroit rapper Trick Trick. “Em just picked up some weight, that’s it. He can still run two miles if you want him to and still out-box the majority of them. My man still gets down.”

Aside from the subject of Em’s weight, Trick Trick revealed some details about his upcoming LP, The Villain, to MTV.

Slim Shady will definitely be on one of the tracks.

He’s rapping on ‘Who Want It.’ He’s like, ‘Who want it?’ [In the song] he’s hanging out and these f—ing idiots are always at it. If you want it, come get it. He ain’t trying to do nothing but be Em. I’m being me. If you want it, I got ya. He’s Em on there. He’s going for it. Whoever wants some can come get it. Em produced and rapped on it.

Dr. Dre will also make an appearance on Trick’s album producing one of the tracks.

But that’s not all. The song “Together Forever” will feature the last verse ever recorded by D12 member Proof.

Trick also said “Together Forever,” features Kid Rock and Esham: “[It's] like the old Run-DMC song [of the same name]. Proof [sounds] old-school [on the song]. Everybody went old-school on it. Kid Rock is rapping too. Proof and E-Sham didn’t used to get along, but they made peace. We’re all going eight [bars], eight [bars] eight [bars].”

Gnarls Barkley: Back In Action!

Good news music lovers!

Gnarls Barkley is back in action and I, for one, am stoked!

Cee-Lo and Danger Mouse have a new release coming in April to follow-up the amazing St. Elsewhere album.

According to Rolling Stone, the album is said to be full of “retro-soul shakedowns, tricked-out psychedelic rock and trunk-rattling hip-hop.”

The track being considered for their first single is described as “a funked-up organ groove complemented by French horns, a chorus of ‘la la la’s and Cee-Lo crooning in his throaty rasp, ‘Here it comes/Say it loud!’”

Another track, reportedly the duo’s favorite, sounds like “a sinister ballad featuring intricately strummed acoustic guitar chords. Cee-Lo’s mood turns dark as he repeats over and over, ‘Who’s gonna save my soul?/I know I’m out of control.’ The song is supposedly a stylish, spooky take on Robert Johnson’s delta blues.”

Goodness grief! I cannot wait for this album!

R.I.P. Heath Ledger

I am not one for gossip, especially when dealing with celebrities and their personal lives.

But, I must admit I was shocked when I heard about Heath Ledger’s death.

Usually when I find out a celebrity has died, I don’t think much of it to be honest. I read or hear about it, think about it for a bit and that’s that.

But out of all the people who pass on unexpectedly, he is the last one I would think of.

I’ve seen quite a few of his movies and felt he was a good actor. The new Batman movie will no doubt cement his legacy within the cinema world. The role he played as the joker maybe his rise and ultimately his fall as well.

And you know what? For lack of better terms, he seemed to be a good dude.

From what I understand, the guy enjoyed being sober, which is refreshing to hear in my opinion.

I don’t know what happened to him, none of us do. Speculation is a crazy and sometimes not-so-good thing. Even after the autopsy is complete, we still may never know what was really going on with him.

I’m not here to say how sad I am or to say how I can’t believe this happened or how much of a tragedy it is.

Fact is, this is a tragedy in certain respects to certain people. Any time a relatively young person is taken from this world before “their time” is a very sad thing.

No doubt the media have been swooning around this story and will continue to swoon long after we all find out what happened.

I say, enough with the swooning.

I say, acknowledge what happened, pay your respects, however that may be, and let this man rest in peace.

Most importantly, acknowledge that life is extremely precious whether you are a celebrity or a regular person. Do not hold someone to a higher standard because they are in the public eye. Do not hold someone in a higher regard just because they have passed. We are all human beings.
