NFL Conference Championship Picks
Its down to the final four of professional football on Sunday.
Four teams go in, two come out. Here are my picks…
AFC Championship
San Diego Chargers @ New England Patriots, 3 p.m.
–San Diego is hurting right now…literally. Antonio Gates is questionable, L.T. isn’t 100 per cent and its looking more and more like Phillip Rivers won’t play. The Chargers defense will have to play their best football all season if they even want to keep it close.
–New England is rediculously good. I don’t know how many times I need to say it. I seriously doubt that they will underestimate an injury-riddled Chargers team. The Pats aren’t invincible, but they’re pretty damn close.
–My Pick: This is as close to a no-brainer as you will get this playoff season. I’m taking the Patriots all the way, winning by at least two touchdowns.
NFC Championship
New York Giants @ Green Bay Packers, 6:30 p.m.
–New York has surprised everyone (even themselves, I’m sure) by getting this deep into the playoffs. They handed a stunning defeat to the Cowboys last week and plan on doing the same to the Packers this Sunday. The Giants defense will be the key to their victory.
–Green Bay is an amazing story this year. Favre has led the boys to the promised land once again…Lambeau Field. It could very well be his last game there, so plan on him and the rest of the Pack going out on a winning note.
–My Pick: Picking against Favre and the Pack at home in mid-January would be foolish. The weather will be the x-factor. We’ll see how Eli and the Giants hold up in below zero temperatures. I predict the Packers will win by a touchdown in what will be a close contest most of the game.
