So what makes mine different?

Well, I’m not even sure that mine is in fact different, but here’s a little about it and what I intend to accomplish with it…

• The main goal of this blog is to promote the flow of ideas. Blogging is a way to express myself and the things I find to be interesting. I want this page to be a highway for ideas and thoughts. Not only thoughts of mine, but your thoughts as well. Remember, it’s a two-way street.
  • In addition to the street analogy, just keep in mind that if you are visiting this page and you see something you like (or don’t like) please, I strongly encourage you to leave a comment or e-mail me. You must realize that it is hard for me as a writer to gauge what you as a reader enjoy or don’t enjoy. If you like it, tell me. If you don’t like it, tell me. Just don’t be an ass about it. I do not mind debating or engaging with a reader about any subject. In fact, I wish it would happen more often. Do not be afraid to voice your opinion, just as I am doing.
• I try to cover a wide-range of subject matters on this page, but I often stick to things I personally find interesting (i.e. sports, music, etc.). Here’s the majority of what you will find on this blog:
• Types
  • One thing I have tried to do more often as of the recent month or so is talk about news stories I read and find interesting. More on that a few bullets below…
  • Certain times, I may stumble upon a video, whatever kind it may be, and I will post it. I find things like posting videos to be a huge part of blogging now. It’s quick and easy to post a video, so look for more of those.
  • Often times, you will read rants or opinion pieces of mine. Ranting is my favorite. Voicing my personal opinion, I feel, is the highest and most wonderful way of expression and freedom of speech. As I said previously, I encourage you to do the same.
• Subjects
  • I read a lot of news…a lot. Some days, I might regurgitate things I read from time to time with an interjection of my opinion. I am completely engulfed in most forms of media, specifically print, which is why I pay so much attention to it. Sometimes I like it, sometimes I don’t. Either way, I’ll be sure to let you know.
  • Music is my thing. I can’t live without music and I listen to it constantly, all day, every day. I enjoy all types of music (with the exception of most country and techno). Classic rock, Hip-hop, Soul, Blues, Jazz, Rock will compose 98% of my playlist. I keep up on music news and happenings regularly.
  • I love sports. Let me say that again, I LOVE SPORTS. I enjoy watching the four major sports: football, basketball, baseball and hockey. Being born and raised in Detroit, I have a particular affinity for the four major league teams* here, so plan on reading a lot of posts on them. I have been, am and will continue to be a die-hard Detroit sports fan until my time on this earth is up.
    • *Yes, I even the Detroit Lions.
  • I have a newly found interest in cars. It’s not that I’ve never liked or enjoyed them, it’s just that I’ve never known much about them. I’m not a “car guy,” therefore, I’ve never known much about specifics. They’ve always been nice to look at, but now I find myself being thoroughly engaged in all aspects. I plan on writing more about them and the automotive industry.
  • I have an affinity for popular culture and enjoy most subject matters encompassed by that broad scope. However, I’m not that big on celebrities and their personal lives, so don’t look for any of that garbage here.
• Other than that, I will keep things fairly random.
